Parking meters ?
Had pasta n pizza are good well made . Pizza slice is a bit pricey for what I paid I thought I would get a all you can eat salad . Good pizza overall tho
Italian food, moderate quality
Really good pasta! I love this place
Very nice place with authentic cuisine. Good service
Good food and great service. I had the chicken parm
Service was great, nice atmosphere. Food was for comfort not wow factor. Would go again
You don't go here for a 100$ meal, you go for comfort food. And, Da Giovanni delivers. It's been here a long time and their sauce still uses the same recipe.
I ordered chicken fettuccine, but there is apparently no chicken! Italian sausages were very good though. The waiter was nice and welcoming to me, but there is one older waitress who was not nice. She seem like cannot wait till I finish. I feel she had some prejudgments towards me. She didn't ask me how was the food, nor looked at me or say anything when served me the food. She just came and put my food on the table and left. I cannot believe I was treated like that. I felt discriminated.I still gave her decent amount of tips, that's when she became happy. Unbelievable.
Bring back the old decorations
Food was great! Just like old times
When in Montreal you have to go here. Same food and taste for the past 40 years and always fast service.
I first tried Di Giovanni as a kid in 1995 .I loved the atmosphere the decor and how many times my dad and I came back. Now after moving back from the state's I have taken my son here . He and my wife were tired of hearing how much I love this place and now they know why.
Traditional spaghetti sauce and cheese. Pizza for lunch or dinner. Flexible with or without extra garlic bread. Bravo.
Good basic French Canadian style Italian restaurant. Pizza with spaghetti and a soft drink all served in a 1950 style dining room. Brings me back to my youth! Family-friendly at a reasonable price.
Pasta was good. Half liter House wine was so-so. 60$ for 2 for pasta and no desert...I do not the no so.
Family friendly restaurant with relaxed atmosphere and polite staff. Good location.
A Montreal staple. Definitely a throwback to the diner days. What you see is what you get.
Canned pasta sauce... Save your money and get some Chef Boyardee which tastes better and much cheaper too! And you won't have to deal with cranky servers.
Fabulous staff and tasty food
Low key family restaurant with reasonable prices and friendly service.
We came here for dinner. We have been coming here for several years off and on and we have noticed changes in the menu. Before there were a lot of choices, but now those choices have dramatically dropped to a single two-sided menu. They do, however, still have all the regulars you would expect from this iconic Italian restaurant in Montréal: spaghetti, pizza, etc. They no longer have calzone.
Great location and nummy Italian food, loved their home made meat saus, good service and the people switch from French to English as soon they hear that you speak English. Loved it.
Pretty good, nothing fancy, price is ok too
Good food, could improve cleanliness for better marks
Excellent typical Italian food with good service and warm hospitality!
The menu is very 90's. Pizza, spaghetti, lasagna and not much else. The spaghetti sauce taste like canned one, very sweet. Overall, I had a feeling of cafeteria-style quality. For 15$ for a small lasagna, I don't think I will come back. Friendly staff, though.
Great food but lackluster service
Great place. Family restaurant with great pizza and pasta
Wonderful foodsince 1954 at a reasonable price
The pizza was delicious!! The low rating is due to the service. We went twice and both times we had to keep asking for water, and Parmesan. The server never offered us either item. Also the lady was somewhat rude, and that reflected in our tip for her. We wanted dessert, and she brought us the bill. She was short with us, and didn't even ask us is we were good after bringing our food.
Just had a terrible chicken ceasar. The carbonara was like a bad alfredo.. the rigatoni with meat sauce tastes like beefaroni. The staff were not friendly to us, didnt engage or answer questions. Staff stands around and talked to each other in the restaurant.
The place is amazing, peaceful and comfortable and without talking about the food which is divine!
Delicious spaghetti carbonara and Mediterranean pizza.
A Montreal landmark of Italian cuisine in a 50s style atmosphere
Very sub par Italian food
I love this place. Awesome pizza & good beer selection. Rock on, pizza guys&dolls.
Hi! Firstly,I would like to mention the welcoming staff even though they were nearing their closing time.As vegetarians,we were apprehensive of the food, but the place just left us amazed.Lastly,I would like to mention Simon, who suggested us the various food options and served us really well with warmth and hospitality .Thank you Simon and thank you Da Giovanni.
Kid friendly, great service, tasty food.
Pasta are a little hard. Meat sauce is just ok. Price is decent. Pizza is good enough. Will go back.
Shredded cheese was used on a poutine in Quebec at this establishment. That is a crime!Pizza was okBusiness has been around since the 50s and was a hotspot back in its hayday
Great sauce, not good... Great! 2L for 20$. Worth every penny... oh wait. Also good pasta!
Really good pizza, quite affordable. The big pizza + small salad fed 2, and we had leftovers. Student friendly. Vegetarian options.
Classic pasta meat sauce... been eating here the last 40 years.
Good Italian food. Pizzagetti wa
Perfect size plate, great food for the price!
A slice of childhood. Downtown wouldn't be the same without it. Simple food, fresh, fast, affordable. Great staff. Will return as often as opportunity allows.
Good spaghetti and pizza for a decent price. Service was quick and friendly. I would have liked a slightly larger portion of pasta though.
Delicious italian food. I want to try again soon!
This place is dope. Fast and friendly service. I would come back
Great place
